Our resin drive system is ideal for areas where more grip is required, such as steps or sloping driveways. Unlike other driveway systems, our resin drives allow the water to completely flow through which stops water build up and puddles which creates ice in Winter. Resin drive systems provide excellent grip on surfaces such as slopes and steps that require safe footing.

Resin drives can be used as an overlay system if your existing surface is suitable to be over layered. Initially, the preparation team start by cleaning the area with a high powered jet wash, including the removal of weed growth and loose materials. Any patch repairs where needed are performed at this stage. 10mm drainage holes are drilled throughout the area, to allow water to drain back to ground.

The resin drive installation team will come to site and perform a final pre-clean, dry the area with a blow torch, then paint an adhesive primer to the surface. At this stage, materials have been delivered to site and we can start to fit your beautiful resin drive.

The resin, hardener and graded and dried aggregates are mixed in a specialist mixer called a forced action baron mixer. Then, the mixture is applied directly onto the prepared surface and hand floated to a minimum depth of 18mm.

The end result is a decorative durable and functional finish which you can use for foot traffic within 4-5 hours.

If your area is unsuitable for our overlay system, we will then create a suitable sub-base for the resin drives system. First of all, we use an excavator to strip back your existing surface to suit your ground conditions, i.e. clay. Once reached, we will add a minimum of 150mm of a mixture of MOT type 1 and MOT type 3 – which is compacted in layers. Once fitted and depending on the ground conditions in your area, we will fit 60mm of open pour tarmac, or 150mm of re-barred concrete, with drainage holes fitted. In most cases edgings will be required to provide a hard edge, where no existing edge exists. This area is now suitable to be overlaid with a minimum of 18mm resin bound aggregate. Done to these specifications, we are 100% confident that this can handle a minimum of 7.5 tonnes on a regular basis.
